New Mickey Factz video and track

Mickey freestylin to a Precize beat with shout outs to Different Kitchen and Nah Right.

From Mickey
2nd week of Volume 2 and I have a crazy track right here. Competition at its best. When you put 6 lyricists in 1 room and throw a beat on, there's no telling what might happen. And this is no different to that statement. This track was very competitive in the sense that people re-wrote verses, some of us took inside shots at each other, we even told one dude his verse was straight garbage. All in all, its up to the people to decide who had the standout swag, best flow and illest verse. So once again, I present to the people: Jumanji!

DJ Dirty - Sundae Shakedown Yacht Party Mix (live)

Oh snap, house music all night long! I guess in this case all day long because DJ Dirty just hit me off with a mix from the Sundae Shakedown WMC Yacht Party. Sundae partnered with Shakedown for a yacht party down at WMC this year...Ok I'm just jealous and I can't really write anything more praising how cool it might have been cause I wasn't there. :( Just download the mix and book your plane tickets for Miami now before gas prices make you walk there because thats the only affordable option. I'm not mad. I swear. Expect soulful, funky, party on a boat house. Make some mojitos or caipirinhas and just chill. Use the grill, its nice outside. Invite some friends over. I'm having a BBQ real soon, I've got venison burgers. We're doing it real big this weekend. Holler at me.

"For your hipster flavor and house fresh smell, make sure you count on Dirty every time"
DJ Dirty plays every Sundae and monthly at 4 AM.

Bo Bliz & Emynd representing in Bmore Friday

Yeah I know this place is all about Philly but if you are an in the know reader you know we represent for Baltimore any chance we get. So the Bol Bliz and the Re Emynd eR are heading south to the land cradle of Club Music civilzation. Check the City Paper out of Bmore wrting up these dudes.

Shouts out to Senari who is doing her booking thing and promoting tracks. Its kinda crazy how promoting is pretty much all myspace now but I did see some flyers for this in all the cool spots (even at Unruly Headquaters). I wonder who be working the street team for your shit. Reguardless YGG and yeah kitten crew or what ever that bullshit is.

Kidz in the Hall - Driving Down the Block

I'm really feeling this song. A fun banger to roll through summer with the windows down sort of track. Sadly nothing else I've heard is anything like this at all. This reminds me of fellow Chicagoans Cool Kids - Black Mags (peddlin down the block...).

  • Kidz in the Hall - Driving Down the Block (zshare) (ysi)

Catch Kidz in the Hall on tour in Philly May 9th with Dizzee Rascal, El-P and more at the First Unitarian Church. Tickets are $15 and you can pick them up at Ticketweb and Relapse Records (608 S. 4th). More info at R5Productions.com

Scottie B Dj Class Malmo Sweden

If you don't know about Unruly Records and Scottie B yet then please go visit them. Pretty much the best Baltimore Club record label out there right now and pretty much inspired me to do what I am doing over at Flamin Hotz.

But probably my favorite producer that came out on Unruly has got to be DJ Class. This is the dude that is just behind a whole bunch of my favorite tracks. Tear The Club Up, Bombing Head, Stop Snitchin, Do It Girl

If you can find this ep buy it on site for this shit...

I know you wanna leave me
But I refuse to let you go
when you on the bed with me,
you been pleasing me
but there is something else that i need
I need some bombing head
Sweat baby and I won't leave you girl
won't let you go...

I don't have a myspace for Dj Class yet but when I get it you should add him

Young Envy - I Like Her

Another new track from Atlanta, this time from 18 year old Young Envy. Envy appears to be the next to blow up out of Atlanta with what appears to be an imminent deal with So So Def. Full details will be announced this Saturday on SoSo Def Radio with Jermain Dupri. Not content to just rap, he also owns a club in Atlanta with 2smuv entertainment as well as Envy Jeans clothing. Expect big things from the kid in '08.

J Rizzle - Hello feat Spyder

New A town banger from J Rizzle - Hello featuring Spyder. I absolutely love this song. Almost has a trance hop feel with a real heavy synth minimal beat. First two verses are by my favorite although the third is growing on me. Compared to the other 4 songs on his MySpace this is such a departure and a good one at that. Sit So High has potential, as long as you can get through the first grating verse, the second is better and the third is much better.

Panda Bear - Comfy In Nautica (XXXChange Remix)

Just got this in the emails. Panda Bear had XXXChange remix his Comfy In Nautica into a danceable little tune. You may know XXXChange from production for such acts as Spank Rock, Amanda Blank and Kid Sister. You may also know him from the skreets of Bmore. Panda Bear's Person Pitch is available now and I actually highly recommend it. I still find it weird, but it's undeniable.

Saturday: Making Time

Guess who's not playing at Making Time again? Thats right its Crystal Castles! Thankfully they're on tour with Health, so unless a bottle of Jack keeps them down they'll definitely be there and if nothing else Switch is there to drop that dirty jackin fidget house. Oh yeah, I heard a rumor while at SXSW, apparently the real reason Ethan from Crystal Castles is so secretive about his name is that he was in a band that we would make fun of him for. Hmm, maybe glam rock? 80's hair band? Goth death metal? Nu metal? I betcha it was nu metal, easier transition to nu rave.

As a little bonus, I got this in the mail. A little mix from JAPATTACK.
Tracklist:
crystal castles - courtship dating
crystal castles - air war (cfcf remix)
letter g - it's gone

Fiddy using a vocoder on the hook? Huh? Young Buck is back! If you haven't been following, Papoose now has beef with Fat Joe and of course Fiddy is eating it up. Therefore G-Unit is dropping Elephant in the sand as a free download over at ThisIs50.com the same day Fat Joe's Elephant in the Room, March 11th. Whole bunch of other drama popped off with Papoose lately as well with Max B and some other ish. Its getting hectic. New York rappers trying to bring it back. I mean, doesn't this just help Fat Joe? ESTELLE- AMERICAN BOY TS7 REMIX

TS7 the bad boy behind all those Heatseaker 12"s of fury has done it again. Straight up flipping the shit out of this new Estelle track. Shit is the biggest track in Bassline right now getting hammered by all the big boys. Shit is freaking nasty but idealy this track should be pushed to 142 BPM to get that full affect. Only think I am not feeling about this remix is that it does not have the verse from Kayne. His verse actually adds a lot to the track but TS7 just absolutely murders this track in that big Midlands UKG Bassline madness.

Cosmo Baker - Too Much Posse

Cosmo Baker has just released another incredible mixtape. This 2 hour plus mix is dedicated to the posse cut that used to appear on every rap album.
This was the record where the artist would invite some of his boys to drop verses on a song, and the end result usually ended up sounding like teh best rap party that ever. Sometimes it was a crazy combination of rappers that you would never think would even bless the same city, much less the mic. Sometimes it would end up being the jump start to a legendary career. Whatever it would be, the posse cut always brought the fire.

Here is a collection of some of my favorite posse cuts of all time. The initial list I had was much longer but in the end I had to trim it down. I had to make sure that (for the most part) the entire song played on this mix - I didn't want to leave anyone out. So here it is - let's go!

Throwback Jungle and Forward

Lets go way back into time with this one. Break out the glowsticks, PLUR, ROAR and all that. Remember Local 13 and their fruit parties, Evoloution, April Foolz, Skyline and the like. Have that fuzzy warm feeling? No idea what I'm talking about, it's all love.

First up tonight DJ Rap Reid Speed Annalyze is headlining 33Twenty with Swarm and Michael Myers. Its going to be ravealicious and I highly recommend you go to this. You should probably leave the glowsticks at home unless your bringing strings with them ;) Seriously though, Annalyze is a highly accomplished DJ and you should know about Swarm and Michael Myers.

As a bonus, I dug through my old collection and found a CD full of Myster Mason mixes from 99 - 01. Mason gave me this CD after dancing to A Side at the bar that is now Shouk like 5-6 years ago. Here is just a little treat. I'll keep peppering you with the mixes if you like them. Sorry no tracklisting.
