Switch, Diplo, Blaqstarr, Sega, Josh Wink

Yo, fuck real life for real. I want to be lawnmower man during the day and then magically appear at night at whatever club night that is the best that night. Like this night, in fact this whole day. I have some real world ish to handle all this week and have no idea how much internets I am going to have access to. This means that I'm missing out on all of Wednesday and won't be posting much. Wednesday would have been an all around awesome day. Early morning, I got the daytime grind on lock with some important interesting ish, get out at a mad decent time and then restaurant week reservations at Brasserie Perrier, for two, with a hopeful good look, course I'm not sure about that whole situation anymore. Then, nighttime jumpoff with Switchlo aka Lilo and Stitch aka Switch and Diplo which, if you were lucky, saw kill it pre tour at [Click] at Fluid. Not to mention rockstar (shorty we are rockstars) Blaqstarr and the "hipster premiere of DJ Sega". Sega is the truth. By hipster premiere, they mean, have you been to Jamz on a Friday or Pinnacle on a Sunday? This is an all ages jump off, so I bet some of you have. I got to see the young bol DJ in an intimate setting last week (Happy bday DSJ and Jawntronix) and he absolutely killed while playing all of his own trax. I'm not salty in the least bit. Not at all...

And just to add insult to injury, Josh Wink celebrates 10 years of Ovum last Wednesdays at Fluid. If you're more into "traditional" house as opposed to Baltimore house, then you need to be here. Two complete opposite ends of the spectrum. I don't even want to write anymore about this or find that Wink music video where the boombox becomes a big star.
Wink guestlist which is free entry until 12.

Like I said, Not. Salty. At. All. In. The Least. Definitely didn't want to crazy leg wit it to Blaqstarr or Wu Tang to Sega. Nope, not me.

This is This - Alex Da Corte at ICA

You may remember Alex Da Corte from his imaginative "Welcome Your Sorrows" at the Black Floor Gallery. Well he is back with a new project entitled This is This debuting tonite on his birthday at the Institute of Contemporary Art. Party runs until 8PM and features Dave P djing. As you may be able to tell, the exhibit revolves around a deer. Photo credit PW, which has more on the artwork. Also playing are Plastic Little and Sweatheart with cover charge of a $1. Officially its sold out, but if you show up, you may be able to get in. Also at the ICA is the Daydreamer Magazine launch party featuring DJ Phillee Blunt from the Illvibe Collective. From their MySpace (where else?)
Daydreamer is a magazine that profiles people in their 20's and 30's who have taken exceptional risks, both professional and personal, in order to make their daydreams a reality, living the lives that they want to live. We're highlighting artists, social entrepreneurs, musicians, activists, anyone who has made a sizeable impact in actively shaping the world that they daydream about.
Seems interesting enough, Daydream magazine is scheduled to be a pilot as that most magazines tend to fail within the first two years.

Also tonite is last Wednesdays which means only one thing, Josh Wink and Ovum at Fluid. Get on the guestlist here for free admission.

Tonite: Josh Wink at Fluid

This man holds down a residency every last Wednesday of the month. This is must go to party in Philly if you like dance music. I'm busy and lazy so I just pulled the below from Jae Slay and Saints & Sinners.

The Local Town Hero Josh Wink!!

One of the most Humble,Creative and Hardest Working DJ's in the city, returns for his Monthly Night of Magic at Fluid.

Here's How I Remember Josh,

It was 1994/95, I had just moved back to Philly from Hawaii where Raves weren't anything compared to how it was Stateside. I went with Rob Paine the first night I came back to one of the NASA parties up in NYC.The Other DJ's on the bill were Keoki, Scott Richmond and a few others. The ONLY One worth remembering was JOSH.

His DJ Set was a Rollercoaster of Extented Drum Builds and Deep Rich Bass tinged with some Acid & ranging from Tribal to Drum and Bass and whatever else he felt like mixing it up with.

That Night I'm Positive I wasnt the only Newest Fan! He had the whole place moving and begging for more.

So here we are It's 2007.The man's had a countless amount of original material released under his belt

"Higher State of Conciousness" "Are You There?" "Dont' Laugh" "I AM READY"

Remix projects for RadioHead, Moby, Skinny Puppy and DJ Sneak to name a Few.

So it's pretty safe to say that Josh is still just as Passionate about the music as he's ever been!
