The Barbary

So Jhn Rdn bought The Barbary a former punk rock etc club and is turning it into a club of awesomeness. Think Johnny Brendas plus Fluid or thats at least how it sounds to me. From The Inquirer:

The downstairs Barbary will be for monthly events, and Redden challenges "DJs and promoters to come up with ways to make their parties better than they've been at any other venue." Upstairs, set to open next year, will be a "dive bar" venue of a different name that will have booths, food and a jukebox.

"In my ideal world, the club would be a worker-owned syndicate where profit would go to support the abolition of the prison system and fund radical social movements," Danielle Redden says.

For now, though, brother and sister will settle for making the Barbary a dance-and-hang space "where people feel comfortable having meaningful social interactions, where people can experience joy," Danielle says.

Tonight is the grand opening with a whole slew of DJ's. Saturday sees The Bounce with Emynd & Bo Bliz and The Barbary MySpace is now updated with the next week of shows.

Crescendolls tonight with Club Lyfestile

Club Lyfestile is for sure next level or at least a whole different level. I'm not sure who is better though. Casi G thinks Dancetron Infinity might have the leg up. Either way check Club Lyfestile live performance at 11:30 after throwing back as many PBR's and vitamin water and vodkas until 11 at Level (21st and Market) for Crescendolls. Yes the same Level that Game Over was at. The owner was looking for a different type of crowd. Ian and Jhn spinning all night.

Jhn Rdn Crescendolls Mix

Just got this mix from Jhn Rdn as a promo for his upcoming weekly "Crescendolls". With the death of Hands & Knees, this phoenix rises from the ashes at the newly opened Goji at 20th and Hamilton directly across from the Wawa. Goji features Japanese cusisine, a sushi bar and an outdoor patio. Plus the kitchen and sushi bar are open until 1. Residents include Jhn Rdn, Ian St. Laurent, Kyle from Bleached Black and Danielle Redden. Keep up to date where else but on the Crescendolls MySpace page.

What it Do : January 07 First First Friday

Its First First Friday and that only happens once a year. Hopefully the weather will hold out so it won't be too bad. Unseasonably warm temperatures continue with the high of 70 possible this weekend. Our usual staple of White Tees White Belts has been postponed until next month as the bols Emynd and Bo Bliz work on their debut record which should be ready for next month's White Tees White Belts.
