DJ Edgar Mixtape 2008
Here is DJ Edgar with the latest release from Flamin Hotz Funkeiros e Progresso. Unfortunately I couldn't meet up with Edgar directly due to his hectic schedule, but I did get to meet his lovely wife in Ipanema. Anyways, I just got an email stating that DJ Edgar is no longer acting as tour DJ for Mr. Catra. He has decided to venture out on his own. He is in the process of booking a European tour in May. Holler at his booking agent here (info [at] barbrasil [dot] se). With a new tour comes new mix, so I present to you a 22 minute mix with baile funk, electro and more.DJ Edgar Space

Garota do Ipanema aka The Girl from Ipanema as seen here with Antonio Carlos Jobim and João Gilberto.
Bom dia! So I'm heading out to Rio today for Carnaval. I so can't wait. Flamin Hotz 10 just got expedited and arrived today, its Funkeiros e Progresso all fully contracted out, with royalties paid out directly to the artists. Shit is banging, green vinyl, green inside printing, spot gloss and of course some banging funk, out soon at your favorite record store with the full CD compilation out by the end of February. We had to get it expedited so I could take some down to Mr Catra, MC Gringo, Beto da Caixa, Cabide, Sargento and DJ Edgar. Saturday I plan on going to a real baile funk to see Sandrinho play in his home favela Borel. Meanwhile I'm missing Sany Pitbull and Carioca Funk Clube in another part of the cidade. Meanwhile, Saturday day and Sunday day is all about the blocos or street parades. What a tough life.

Bass Bandits EP Out Now
The Bass Bandits EP is out now at fine record stores and available directly from Flamin Hotz. It features 6 banging bass heavy tracks from the Trouble & Bass crew out of NYC. As always, the sleeve is amazing. It has a spot gloss on it giving it an extra value to it that I haven't seen before with vinyl. Quality music, quality art. Spin it at your next dj set or just hang it on your wall.Blending elements of hip hop, grime, dubstep, bmore club and electro, New York’s Trouble and Bass crew is set to drop a speaker shattering EP of remixes for Flamin Hotz. Drop the Lime and Math Head have selected six of the hardest club ready remixes that the the crew produced this year. These tracks have been club tested and dance floor approved all over Europe and North America and a ready to make your speakers bleed. One listen will let you know that the Bass Bandits are here and ready to destroy your sound system.Check the audio samples below. Get Up is my favorite, the ending is killer as it transitions into a Michael Jackson sample.

A2. L. Vis & Wully - Uptown V.I.P.
A3. Drop the Lime - Juggernut
