Spank Rock and Benny Blanco are: Bangers and Cash feat. Amanda Blank - Loose (video very NSFW)

Where as all yall were hoping to see booties in B.O.O.T.A.Y. and it was entirely too wholesome, the gang made up for it with this one. Favorite comment so far "wow,i've never seen a porn music video this is amazing." Think Spank Rock invading a porn shoot and rapping with lots of champagne. Couple friends stop by including Brendan Bring'em, Rose from Sweatheart and Dirty South Joe. In the immortal words of Amanda Blank "These bitches is nasssttyy."

UPDATE: Imeem pulled the video down, but its up on youtube, probably not for long.

Hip Hop Links

First off, Brendan Bring'em is the best DJ in the city hands down. Promoters outside of Philly need to be booking him across the world. Philly consistently has some of the best DJ's ever. I feel honored that I can go see him 5 nights of the week and know that he'll absolutely kill it. Those last 45 minutes are so focused. If you haven't seen him see him Sundays at Loie, Wednesdays at Walnut Room, Thursdays at Bamboo, Fridays at Tragos or Saturdays at Mojito, be sure to make time in your busy schedule. He has so much heat coming it's not even a question. As soon as young Jes One gets on his grind and completes his mixtape for the mix series, I'm sure you'll all understand if you didn't already know.

Tonite: Popoff Shack Reunion

Remember when the Popoff Shack was like the greatest party possible. Low Budget and Brendan were spinning upstairs and Dan the Swede was downstairs. It was all I could talk about on this blog for like 6 months or so. I hated going all the way out there cause it was kind of in no man's land but damn if it wasn't worth it. Well tonite its back at Bamboo. Low Budget and Brendan Bring'em will be spinning upstairs. Dan The Swede will bring nothing but fiyah for the dance floor downstairs and the outside area. Its only $5 on the list and you'll be awarded with an open vodka bar if you are there between 10 and 11. Yeah, sounds about right. Meanwhile, after tonite catch Low B in LA on Friday at the Echoplex and then in Atlanta at the Royal on Saturday.

The Remedy 10th Anniversary Photos

I had a blast at the Remedy Anniversary on Monday. Big Rich and Cosmo killed it. DJ Soul was the special guest. There were free Ayres and Cosmo Scion mixed CD's everywhere. I picked up 2 extra, so the first 2 people to email me at 5151List [at] gmail {dot} com will get one. Questlove showed up minutes after I did to say whats up to Cos and Rich. Brendan was there and was having a blast. Illvibe in the building. Tommy and Thane stopped by. Rachael and Gravy and lots of other people. The place was packed. Shout out to Bird, Has and JC. I see you DD.

What It Do : First Friday

So last night, Plastic Little absolutely killed it. Si Young got the crowd bouncing and was a welcomed addition from seeing them perform with an iPod. MC Spankrock made a special guest appearance jumping on stage for Cramboida and Now I Holler. From there I had to check out Brendan and Dan at Bamboo for the weekly Paperstreet/Simplefly jumpoff. Swede was on point with the reggae downstairs. Meanwhile, for the last half hour Brendan was in the zone. I swear he ran 50 hip hop classics in like 30 minutes. Just as I was really getting into C.R.E.A.M. or Top Billing or Luchini he would cut it into something else. Hands down, the best DJ in the city. Plus there is just so many major moves for his Deuce Deuce label. Enough of yesterday lets get into this weekend.

What it Do: Your Weekend Guide

First off, I was listening to DMX earlier on Semtex Saturday Night Mixtape and I really want to hear the dog back on. If when people say to bring back NY hip hop it has to do with DMX I wholeheartedly agree. Second, I knew that the Thursday night party at Bamboo hot with Brendan and now Dan the Swede spinning, but for real this place is dope. Brendan spinning up stairs, Dan downstairs and an outside area to chill and holler at jawns and smoke and talk business and fun and whatever else you do at the club. Holla back.

What It Do: Friday the 13th

Friday the 13th! Yeah, my favorite day of the year. I have always found superstitious tales like this one funny. 13 has always has been my favorite number. Friday the 13th the best day(s) of the year. I always wanted a black cat which I now have. So far I think I've gotten nothing but good luck from all of these. I do have to admit that I absolutely hate watching scary movies. Friday the 13th included. If you need a reason to wile out, then blame it on this. Or you could just rest up as there are 3 different parties going all nite. Now only if it was a full moon too...

Bamboo Thursdays

Check out Bamboo tonite at with resident DJ Brendan Bring'em on the beat. Open bar like normal from 10 - 11. Guestlist here.

Beforehand be sure to check out the debut of "Louise" the creation from local designer Kasey Jackson at Echo Chic from 6 - 9. Sip eggnog and listen to Brendan spin here as well.
The “party dress of the season” gets unveiled Thursday night when local designer Kasey Jackson launches her new women's line called Louise. Jackson says a lot of the inspiration for her forthcoming spring collection of versatile dresses comes from the girls in Ibiza, where she and husband DJ Brendan Bring'em (who's DJing both halves of the night) lived in 2000. “You see people leaving the nightclub in their party dresses and going straight to the beach in the same outfit, and vice versa,” says Jackson of island fashion. “So these dresses can be very casual for the day, but because of the quality of the fabric and design they can easily be dressed up for night.”
More info about Louise at Echo Chic.

Edit: Due to certain complications a certain special guest will not be here.
