N.A.S.A. Ft RZA MIA AMANDA BLANK SANTOGOLD SPANKROCK GEORGE CLINTON

I try to stay away from excessive youtube postings since I can't watch this shit at work but I just saw this promo thing for North American South American were these dudes got all these fucking pretty cool artists together to make music. Some of the stuff sounds like its gonna be wack, like dope on paper but wack cause the executive producers are on some super West Coast Hip Hop shit. But then some of those tracks sounded really fucking incredible. Like that shit with Amanda Blank and Sizzla.

Shit could be EPIC.

N.A.S.A on myspace, I added them.

keep abreast on this shit. Over 4 1/2 years these dudes look like they have collected some serious heat.

The Jang House and PackofRats Birthday

30 at the club. Come celebrate as PackofRats begins his "descent into old age and irrelevance". Tonight is his actual birthday so come out and buy him a shot as he attempts to dj with notable other non DJ MC Spankrock aka DJ Leroy Jetson and That Dude Ian. Actually there will be a real DJ and his name is Si Young. He's good. To make all of this that much more interesting, this is the start of a weekly party at the Barbary. Jayson also wanted me to blog about the conversation he had with John Thousand yesterday at the Flea Market. They got into a discussion about who the best kisser in Plastic Little was. Kurt thinks Jayson kisses like a girl and Jon was a bit upset that he hadn't got to kiss Jayson yet. I suggested a kissing booth and they both agreed. This is a special opening night jawn, so don't miss out.

Spank Rock and Benny Blanco are: Bangers and Cash feat. Amanda Blank - Loose (video very NSFW)

Where as all yall were hoping to see booties in B.O.O.T.A.Y. and it was entirely too wholesome, the gang made up for it with this one. Favorite comment so far "wow,i've never seen a porn music video this is amazing." Think Spank Rock invading a porn shoot and rapping with lots of champagne. Couple friends stop by including Brendan Bring'em, Rose from Sweatheart and Dirty South Joe. In the immortal words of Amanda Blank "These bitches is nasssttyy."

UPDATE: Imeem pulled the video down, but its up on youtube, probably not for long.

RCRD LBL & Justice feat Spank Rock and Mos Def

So the music industry has no idea what to do with itself. Blogs, mp3s and torrents have taken over, so what do you do? You create a blog/label funded by sponsors and give away the music for freeeeeeeeeee!!!
Well, we'd like to welcome you to RCRD LBL, a brand new music site where all of the downloads are both free AND legal. In a world where many people get their music for free, we wanted to create a site where bands we loved could put their music out there for free AND get paid for it. RCRD LBL is a new model and an experiment, putting great music out there for free and with absolutely no DRM
So with that, comes their first post featuring a Benny Blanco remix of Justice D.A.N.C.E. with Spank Rock and Mos Def lending their lyrics.

Spank Rock Interview

Oh man, I so wish I was the Woodies this past week. Spank Rock performed with a whole stage full of girls in bikinis. Ran wild in the media area stealing drinks from the gothamist blogger who continues to blog only about said incident for the next 15 minutes and then live blogging and talking shit in ALL CAPS and then nearly got into a fight with Jared Leto. Needless to say Spank Rock stole the show like normal on and off stage. Jared, what happened? Speaking of which anybody heard from Claire Daines? Last time I heard her name was in the Prada store in NYC where she was running around barefoot trying on shoes. Also to top it all off El-P was seriously wasted and "bashes Spank Rock". Is this bashing? I think he just hates rap music. Bwahahahahahahaha.

Lilo and Stich like whoa

Yo so this picture isn't actually from the show in Philly but I wanted to post a picture of Switch and Diplo together. But the show was off the chain last night at the studio spot that Diplo just bought. Shit was massive fun with all types of craziness and the who’s who of what ever you wanna call this shit was hanging out. Big shouts to Blaqstarr, Spank Rock, Cullen Stalin, Jawntronix, DSJ, Allison (happy B-Day), Abby, Sarah, TJ, Kitty Kat, ReJayJay, Primeminster Paper Bag, Young C Young, I think that dude Frogman from TTL was there, Catchdini, Sarah, that dude from the Consultants, James James, Agnew, Doc$Beats, re myn der, That Kid Bo, Tommy Ups the Party plus 1, The Get it in Girls (Calley, Jess, Emil's Girlfriend) [can we go to more really sweaty bars where you guys have to take your clothes off and drink 40's in the future $) holla], the simplest of flys jayster, Mr. Dave P, Ribbity Rabit, that girl who was hanging out in Tom's oversized muscle shirt with the American flag thong, the Broadzilla DJ who has a similar name to me, and of course to the man of the night DJ SEGA.

So basically the venue was a fucking sweat box. As soon as you walked in it was just heat and you were dripping with sweat. I hope my ten bucks went towards buying that spot an air conditioner. I got there right before DJ Sega got on and this dude absolutely destroyed the dance floor with lots of original productions and just really slammin songs. His transitions where so solid I just loved yellin the lil Jon "What" and hearing DSJ on the mic like "Okayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy" and getting buck. This dude is serious. (Sadly no one was wutanging (until Kitty Kat showed up), so looks like they haven’t learned how from the instructions printed on the inside of the Dwizz record)

Next up was freaking Switch and peoples were just not ready yet for the awesomeness this dude drops. His set was actually a little less aggressive than when I heard him earlier in the year. It was kind of disappointing. He opened with some hip hop stuff then into some og productions, then into some MIA joints, mixing in other UK underground bangers right now. He was jammin that Kissy Sell Out dub that was just super smashing. But I was really looking forward to the thunderous bass lines and extreme jacking that came at the end of his set. I guess he had to tone it down a little since he wasn't really playin to a house crowd. But its always crazy to think that this dude commands like serious 8000 person raves in the UK and is sweating it out in this spot in Philly in the US, so intimate I loved it. He left it ready for Diplo to come up and play a bunch of his own productions and what have yous that really got the crowd bouncing. Dropping lots of cuts from the Hollertronix 12"s, the P-H-I-L-L-Y got a serious nod and stuff from his online catalogue like that Rye Rye joint. By this time the place is so freakin hot I am dancing on the second level by the film projections with my pants down drinking red wine out of a solo cup getting buck. All of my clothes were soaked through and when some one hugged me they got a shirt full of sweat. Actually I bet I looked mad thin I should have tried to holler at some girls. Blaqstarr came on after that but it was 1:00 and I was done as were most of the people in the audience.

As I was walking home I got to CCP and was chaffing so bad that I took off my jeans with my shoes on and walked the rest of the way home in my boxers. When I round the corner to my house their are eight cop cars making all the homeless people leave this park where they all sleep on my block and I kinda bug out. Should I keep walking in my boxers with my jeans over my shoulder half drunk on some dwight yokem like its no big deal in front of all these cops to my front door or should hang back by Phillips and try to wiggle my jeans on with my shoes on and hope the cops don't come over and ask me why the fuck I am not wearing any pants. (shit thankfully I was not wearing my stripper underwear that would have been really bad).

Anyways I was happy as shit to get into bed at 1:17 and slept away any worries I might have had.

Spank Rock and Benny Blanco - Shake That

Just caught this over at the Spank Rock myspace blog via pitchgeek
An EP he'd been working on with producer Benny Blanco that takes freak nasty Miami bass pioneers 2 Live Crew as its inspiration.

Well, Benny and Spank must've tweaked their nasty just right, as the Bangers & Cash EP is ready to hit the dance floor, complete 2 Live Crew samples on every song and an homage to 2 Live Crew's notorious Nasty As They Wanna Be cover as its artwork (see, um, above).

Myspace will be rolling out four of the EP's five tracks as free streams, starting with "Shake That" this Thursday, September 6. Every week, MySpace will feature another Banger as their "single of the week," with a video for "Loose" to follow on October 3. And, starting October 9, you can sneak Bangers & Cash out of the record shop with a sheepish look on your face, thanks to Downtown Records.
In most instances I would ask why they would say sneak out the record with a sheepish look on your face but then I remember I'm reading pitchgeek and it explains everything.

New Spank Rock Interview from London

Spank Rock producers and dj's Ronnie Darko, AleXXXchange and Chris Rockswell speak with Pyro Radio (download) about their Fabriclive 33 Mix CD. If you've heard the CD or seen the track listing you may be a bit surprised.

Here's XXXchange breaking it down:
First you make a wish list of stuff, then they try and license all that stuff. about half of the requests will get turned down and another quarter will come with specific instructions (more on this later). so, if you've tried to make any kind of coherent statement with the tracks you've picked on the first round you're gonna need to compensate for all the holes on the second round of wish-listing.

to avoid unnecessary arguments and confusion I took over nearly the entire selection / licensing process on our side of things. that's probably why this mix ended up being a more electro stuff /obvious hits and less rap / obscure rock stuff than our previous mixes, just 'cause that's the way my taste runs.

some of the stuff that got turned down was really suprising, we tried to get two separate tracks by MU but apparently they deny everything on general principal. "cola bottle baby" got turned down and all kinds of other obscure shit got turned down...people who you'd figure would be clamoring over each other to get that licensing money...! justin timberlake of course got turned down but, rick ross got approved. go figure...

"owner of a lonely heart" got approved. but we weren't allowed to re-edit it in any way so, i had to hire Tyler Pope(from !!!) to come in and re-play the guitar parts for that and the justin timberlake song. we also had to make a fake version of MU's "Paris Hilton" which happens underneath the "technologic" acapella. in the end, the easiest companies to work with were the smaller, more dance oriented ones like, ed rec, institubes and, gigolo, who are actually familiar with the Fabric mix cd series.

this one is way more stretched out than the rest of our mixes, in terms of letting each track actually play for a while etc...

fabric requires you to fill 70 minutes with only about 25 tracks licensed, which means each track has to play for about 2 and a half minutes. this format, I feel, is a little bit outdated and is probably better suited to doing a compliation cd rather than a mix cd. However, since it's impossible for fabric (or scion, or whoever) to make any money off these cd's if there's more than 25 tracks lisenced, we're all stuck trying to fill that space with that amount of songs. so it's nice to pick 12"s that have the acapellas and bonus beats and all that other good shit to play around with...

so, while finishing the mix, I forgot about the 70 minute length requirement ( the other dudes were on tour by this time) and, I turned in a 54 minute one. so, they made me go back and re-do it but, were nice enough to license a few more tracks (over their normal limit) to help me fill it out.

in the end we figured out how to make it work but left the experience ready to do another "fun" ( apparently now also illegal) mixtape as soon as possible
Go check out XXXchange website and listen to "Get It Now featuring Amanda Blank" and buy the digital single.

Fabric Live 33 - Spank Rock Megapost

What I just sent... Is it true that you automaticly get to dj in Ibiza after doing one of these?
Thats XXXchange after having just sent Fabric Live 33 master to London on January 29th. Fabric Live members will have received this on Saturday, UK retail gets it next week but the US won't get it until the 24th. For now just marinate on this:
“I came up with the idea that every person that does a mix after the last person always has to start with the song that the last one ended with. So that last song, the idea was we were gonna put it at the end so you listen to ours and it ends, and you listen to Diplo’s and that’s what it kicks off with – so they all have a connection together.” – Ronnie Darko

And the result is Fabriclive 33, a statement-making mix bursting with personality. From the dialogues in the intro and outro (which Alex secretly recorded before their performance on the Jimmy Kimmel show) to their secret sound effects to their debauched singing to just the quick draw, short attention span levelling of genres, if this mix asks a question, the answer is downright hilarious. Tricks are for kids and don’t you forget it.

“The thing is, we fuck around a lot, all the time…and I think a big part of the aesthetic of our performances and how we roll, as far as making the party, is debauchery and fun. And if something’s sloppy, you kind of own that a little bit, you know? So we just sort of carried that over into the fabric mix, we thought maybe it would be good to have a little bit of humour in it. And there’s some other stuff – we did a lot of recording, we made a lot of sound effects. For example, there sounds on there that sound like bombs dropping, which we made by mic’ing the sound of us picking up amplifiers and dropping them. There’s little stuff in there that took a while to make, and yeah…there’s some stuff in there you gotta check for. It was really fun to make.”- Chris Devlin

Plastic Little Crambodia Single

Plastic Little just released the Crambodia single record. Its available over at Turntable Lab.
Not only will the instrumental for "Crambodia(1)" help you gear up for the upcoming TTLab-sponsored Plastic Little remix project (shhhh…), but this single version also includes a guest spot from Spank Rock, as well as Ghostface and Amanda Blank, who were included on the album version. The beat is nice anyway, so it doesn't really matter who's on the track… okay, it does matter who's on the track, 'cause if Ghostface cosigns Plastic Little, shouldn't you give 'em a chance too? The man knows what he's talking about. Anyway, in addition to the dirty, clean and instrumental versions for "Crambodia," you also get dirty and clean versions of two album tracks: the dope, Cure-sampling (double shhh…) King Honey remix of "Get Close(2)" and the retro-futuristic space beatage of "Holla Plastique(3)."

TTLab-sponsored Plastic Little remix project??? Will find out more direct from the source. Holla at TTLab, listen to the 3 tracks they posted up and cop that for $7.

Plastic Little Video Shoot Tomorrow

Direct from a PaperStreet MySpace bulletin.
Plastic Little has got that new crack and they wanna share it. They are busy shooting their new video and there's thing in it that we in the bizness call a "club scene". I know, it's just some techincal jargon...but I'll explain it to you.
It's a scene which takes place in a club.
Got it?
Wanna be in it?
This Saturday, like tomorrow, be at Medusa at 20th & Chestnut Street at 4pm.

You'll just be an extra or something, but when they start showing the thing on MTV2 and you're all wasted you can grab your cat and be like , "Oh shit look!!".

Don't know what to wear? The esteemed video directors said something to the effect of, "Look fresh". If you don't know what fresh looks like, go google image it.
Shes Mature out now. Pick it up here with Too Black for BET, the Picture Disc or a just a single.

3 floors. Rod motherfucking Lee, godfather of Bmore club. Caps & Jones killing it downstairs. Juiceboxxx back to blow your minds. Spank Rock djs BBC with nothing but heat and DJ Deluxxx. You know!
On the Third Floor is a private VIP lounge overlooking the dance floor with booths and private bar. We are currently accepting booth reservations for the third floor. There is a very friendly bottle service minimum: just one bottle per 6 person group. If you're interested in skipping the line, having your friends hold it down on the Third Floor and generally do it big for the opening, just holler at us with "Booth Reservation" as the subject with your name and a contact number.

Pop Montreal

Montreal was crazy. Shout out to the city and all the people I met and saw. Curtis Vodka and I stopped by L'Étiquette Radio on Friday night after getting into the city. From there we headed Fractal. Fractal is a two level warehouse club that was just reopened. Curtis played from 1 - 2:30 with his signature sound of Baltimore club. Up next was DJ Orgasmic and TTC. The French Canadians absolutely love these guys as they were singing along to their songs. The energy from the show was amazing.

Up next was Daniel Haksman and Edu K. Edu K was the lead singer of a pop punk band of what seems like My Chemical Romance or something like that. In 2000, he wrote a song dedicated to baile funk called Popuzuda Rock n Roll (ass Rock n Roll) and has been riding the wave of funk carioca since. The show was interesting. Here is a guy that is dressed in all black, black painted nails, spiked collar etc and I think he's singing about ass shaking and partying. Hmmm. To add to the flavor, he was definitely into the show, climbing on top of speakers (nearly knocking them over), climbing on tables and humping them etc. Interesting to say the least. He's on tour and will be in Baltimore this Friday at Taxlo along with TTC and MSTRKRFT.

We wake up the next day and walk up and down St. Laurent and all around downtown Montreal. Aux Vivres is a killer vegan restaurant. I tried poutine from a random spot. Moog/DNA now stocks Yeti Bounce. Vice Records party jumped off. Saw Flosstradamus, Kid Sister, Pandemonium Jones, Dave from Chromeo, A-Trak, Huggs, Cullen Stalin and a whole gang of other people there. Fast forward to Fractal again. Hatchmatik from Peer Pressure in Montreal is killing them with Bmore and more. A-Trak was up next and kept the party jumping with bmore and baile bangers. We left shortly after attempting to find the Slum Recs after party with Pandemonium Jones, Erik Devro, Huggs (he'll be at Sundays on the 22nd) and a couple other cats but no luck. Head back to go sleep and watch White Label TV. This is killer right here. I got an exclusive for this and this is just crazy. Crazy amounts of Spank Rock and some ill video remixes from System-D128 and more. Will keep you updated as soon as its out.

Sunday we went to a sports bar on St. Laurent to watch the Eagles game and found we were in friendly territory. Surrounded by Iggles fans, we cheered the Birds on as they beat the Cowboys. After the game, we headed home, passed through New Baltimore and got back to NYC early Monday morning.

I was back in Philly Monday night and have been recovering ever since. Back to the grind today and here on out.

Spank Rock the Troc

What an amazing show. Spank Rock and friends absolutely killed it. There was so much energy and so much quality music all in one venue. This should be the new traveling festival. Spank Rock and friends coming to a town near you to find all the Backyard Bettys, Bumping the speakers with plenty of bass.

Nouveau Riche opened up the show with a 25 minute set early in the night. You can check one of their live tracks at the bottom if you missed it. Contra, MIA's tour DJ, was up next playing plenty of booty shaking jams to get everyone hype for the rest of the night. Juiceboxxx was the first live performer and really set the tone for the night. His set was incredible. Straight out of Wisconsin, Juiceboxxx covered more square footage the rest of the night. He was on stage. He was in the crowd. He was at the back of the crowd. He climbed up the speakers and on to the balcony. He was everywhere. At the end he had everyone lay down and then jumped back up when the song banged again. This kid has so much heart and energy it was amazing.

Up next was Plastic Little. Jon Thousand, NBC and Pack of Rats kept things going as they normally do. Highlights include: Stunna glasses from CVS, Pack of Rats rolling around both stages, Driz Hollering and handing out beer to the crowd, Pack of Rats pouring a beer on his head and then singing the Whole New World section of Driz Hollering, using 3 mics at a time because 1 is never enough, Rats affection for Squid and all the usual P.Little antics. Sadly there was no Ghostface appearance but the album will be out as soon as they stop adding and tweaking tracks.

Tittsworth came on immediately after to keep the crowd bouncing with that Bmore club. The place was packed and wilding out and ready for Spank Rock. XXXchange stepped on stage and started setting up. Devlin and Darko stepped up and continued where Tittsworth left off. The drums from Love Peace Project started and the crowd cheered as Cool MC Disco Spank Rock stepped on stage. Far Left to What it Look Like, Chilly Will, Rick Rubin and more. The crowd sang and danced along to their favorite Spank Rock songs. BBC did their thing on the decks. Pase Rock kept things moving along. Next track to come along was Bump and out from the back came Amanda Blank to do her verse along with Rose from Sweatheart. The crowd went absolutely crazy when they came out and took over the stage. Classic Amanda Blank straight killing at and making the crowd go nuts. Amanda's disco ball boots were crazy as well, straight blinding me before she got on stage. After her verse, since Spankro put her on blast she called out Plastic Little to do Now I Holler. P. Little was hyped, bringing out their PBR and spitting their verses alongside Spank. The lower stage turned into a rowdy moshpit of P. Little, Rose, Amanda, Pase and Spank Rock. Darko came out next on the mic singing "Ass Titties Funky Ass and Titties" alongside Pase Rock which they modified from an old Five Deez song. Race Riot on the DanceFloor (Shake it til My Dick Turns Racist) absolutely kills everytime they play it and this was no exception. The lower stage turned into a dance floor as Spank Rock finished.

Deluxxx came up next and had a short set to segway into the godfather of Bmore club Rod Lee. Lee brought nothing but heat and brought out Spank Rock for a freestyle session. 2:30 the lights came on and the night was over. Shout out to Paper Street with support from Simplefly for putting the show on. dMarie Groundscore took 45 mins of footage and plenty of pictures and should have them up soon. Anthem Magazine had a photographer there so watch out for that. If you have pics or videos hit us up: 5151List@gmail.com

What it Do

Its still summer, school is back in session and this weekend is packed. Can't stop. Won't stop. I might even bring my camera out this weekend. Its also still the Philly Fringe festival. I'm sure there are gems, I'm not up on them though. If you got them, leave them in the comments.

Friday

  • Cosmo Baker, Nick Catchdubs at the grand opening of the Social Club 2011 Sansom Street. The Social Club recently took the saran wrap off and their disco club direct from the 70's (think lots of brass, mirrors and disco ball chandeliers) is now open for consumption. Tonight there is an open bar from 10 - 11 but there are only a handful of spots left. Get on the half price/open bar guestlist now.
  • Bob, ubiquitous in Philly, will be creating live art at the Bubble House for Natural Selection at the Bubble House (3404 Sansom) with Clayton and Fulcrum who killed it before Krush on Wednesday. $1 lagers and free apps 10 - 11.
Saturday
  • The Pop Off Shack Returns! This time it will be at the Social Club (see above). Brendan Bring'em and Low Budget. Hollertronix and Soul Travelers. Oh, did I mention there is a open bar. Holler!
  • MSTRKRFT around the corner at Medusa. Really Medusa? Shouldn't they be playing a Making Time or I don't know, a slightly larger club?
  • Drum n bass in the place at Bubble House with DJ Suv from Roni Size / Reprazent / Full Cycle.
  • Mojito in the fall.
Sunday
  • Tittsworth at Sundays are the New Black at Walnut Room (1709 Walnut). Remember when Tittsworth killed it at Transit? Yeah, well more of the same from him. Half priced guestlist here.
Next Sunday Curtis Vodka straight from Alaska will be touching down. Spank Rock and friends the 22nd. More and more and more. Can't Stop. Won't Stop.

Steven Bloodbath Likes Rainbows

I first got this CD a couple weeks ago and I can't believe how much time has passed since then. This is a great mix that includes "everything From Young Leek To Londonbeat, to Justice." Not to mention Beastie Boys, Federation and their incredible Stunna Glasses at night remix of Corey Hart (ps. If you see me at night wearing sunglasses, it doesn't mean I started doing heroin or scraping cause I have no car.) Well worth the listen. Steve continues to put work in as a DJ as well with another Stay Local party for all you under 21 Philly peeps September 2nd. Meanwhile he has been busy with more production with a Spankrock and Yeah Yeah Yeahs remix along with a couple of original tracks, one with Julian S. Process and the other sampling Jonathan Richman.

Sundays are the New Black and have been absolutely crazy bringing in crazy talent. Spank Rock, Disco D, Low Budget and now this week Catchdubs.

From the Philadelphia Weekly A List:
Let’s get this out of the way: Yes, this is the third time we’ve previewed Sunday Is The New Black at the Walnut Room. You can say we’re lame, or you can acknowledge that this party has been putting on the summer’s hottest shit and outdoing the competition. Let me explain why this particular night is mandatory attendance. One word: Catchdubs.
You may remember Catch from the last time he played at Transit for Rowdy. Well if you missed it you definitely need to be there this Sunday and if you were there, then I'm wasting my words. Get on the guestlist now for half price admission.

Yoyoyoyoyoyo for a bible?

Apparently so. Spank Rock CD's are getting swapped out for bibles mid shipment from Big Dada's Montreal office. As Casi G. opined "I guess Home Land Security has deemed this shit is just to devastating to your ears."

From the label:
"We're not talking about a Deicide record or Aleister Crowley re-issues, we're talking about a bumping good-times party hip-hop record," said the label in a public statement. "Is it because they called out 'hemp hacky-sacking motherfuckers' on their record? We remain... confused. But please, Mr. or Mrs. Thief, if you're reading this, please stop. Shit's getting expensive."

Diplo / CSS / Bonde Do Role Tour Blog & Hollertronix Reunion

Vicarious living via Chris Lemon Red is available now that the tour has officially kicked off. Chris is travelling along on the bus and will be at every show selling merchandise. Say hi to him and you just may end up on the site. Nudity is a sure fire way.

Meanwhile things in Philly are heating up as the weather kinda, sort of cools down. The show is sold out, all 250 tickets at the Mummers Museum. However, maybe, just maybe, there may be 50 more tickets available. Maybe. (Holla at R5) Regardless, just added is the official afterparty: It's the return of Hollertronix! Oh snap! Low Budget will be joining Diplo for an insane afterparty at Transit from 12 - 3:30 with special guest Dave P and reinforced sound. For all those at the show, its free. If you don't manage to get tickets its only $5. My brain is going to melt from all of this. Open bar 8 - 12. Hollertronix at Transit. Ideally, I will make it through all of this with pictures. Then again...
Over at Fluokids I found these awesome tracks among others:

All I Wanna Do is Disco Dance With You

I need to learn more French because Fluo Kids has so much quality music they release. Teki Latex of French group TTC leads off with his debut single "Disco Dance With You". This incredibly infectious rhythm makes me want to get up and start dancing here at work regardless of odd stares from coworkers. I just may be partial to songs about dancing, yet what really puts this over the top is the remix from Spank Rock and Amanda Blank. Amanda's silky smooth hook makes my spine tingle. Spank Rock kills his verse with "Now you're moving to it all sweaty like it was Hollertronix and shit". Amanda's verse is top notch like we've all come to expect.

The single is out July 17th I believe on Arcade Mode and possibly Turntable Lab as well.

What It Look Like

Shotguns, Beast, PBR & 95. Rolling to Baltimore on a party bus for the Spank Rock CD release party at the Ottobar. Whats that smell? Lighters clicking, cantabs popping and a wealth of converstaions meld together. A haze takes over the bus and I don't even think we're out of PA yet. Rinse and repeat for the next hour and a half. Throw in some Champagne, wine, cheese and more lighters clicking for good measure. We know we're close when the radio station has Baltimore club hour playing. Add some impromptu dancing, lots of camera flashes and time speeds up to the point where we're already there.

Its only 9:30 and Philly has just taken over the Ottobar. I mean seriously, who goes out to the club so early? If all of the alcohol on the bus wasn't enough, its free Natty Boh til 11 along with free Sparks for good measure. The club starts to fill up. Local Baltmoreans seem surprised that there are so many people already here and have already drank so much. Upstairs there are pool tables and backgammon. Head back downstairs and The Love Peace Project comes on. They have an impressive stage show with multiple MCs, bongos, bass, drums, dancers and more.

The crowd is in a frenzy and Spank Rock comes on. The energy in the place is almost palpable. Spankro goes through track after track as the crowd is dancing and singing along. Amanda Blank and Rose make a special guest appearance which pushes the crowd over the edge. From Bump to What it Look Like to Top Billing and more the crowd can't get enough. Time flies by and Spankrock finish their last song. The BBC DJs, Devlin, Darko, Chipset and Karl Hungus keep the crowd rocking as they take over the stage.

Amazingly its already 2 and the club empties out. We head back to the bus for the ride back to Philly. Cool MC Disco Spankrock stops by to say goodbye. The bus seems emptier than it was on the way there but no one says we're missing anybody so we head out. The bus is far more reserved as some pass out and some chill out.

The next day we find out a certain Philadelphian in a tux seems to have passed out, missed the bus and woke up at the Ottobar at 6 in the morning. The bus driver cleaned the bus from the ride down at the bar, then cleaned it again back here in Philly and it still had to go to cleaning service since the smell of smoke and beer was so bad. Needless to say, he said the smell of alcohol and smoke was overpowering there and back.
