Sean Thomas, Billy W and DJ Dirty join forces every last Thursday at the Barbary for Trounce.
This party’s message is “music”, we want play the highest quality sounds that aren’t necessarily heard. We want to take it from West London to Detroit and from the Southside of Chicago to Germany.
Boogie, Disco, Deep & Tech House will be driving the mood. I throw that term “Boogie” around a lot there is past and future styles of it but here is how it started…
As disco went back underground at the beginning of the ‘80s, it went through a bit of a stylistic makeover. Boogie, a slower take on disco with a thicker back beat, became popular in clubs, and disco labels like Salsoul, West End, and Prelude continued to flourish with a mass of underground hits. These labels reduced the diva and the orchestral quotient of disco, and added in an array of synthesizers as well as a stronger soul/R&B vibe to their tracks. The effect was that a lot of post-disco dance music had a breezy, gliding quality to it instead of feeling bombastic and excessive.
Check it out this Thursday, there is no cover and $2 High lifes.
Last week, Sean Thomas, Billy W and Dirty all played at a special birthday celebration Sundae for Dirty. Grab their sets below.

Due to the recent tragic events, the Icon party is now solely dedicated to Michael Jackson. Sammy Slice, Dirty, Lee Jones and A-Run will be spinning from 5-9 outside and 9-12 inside at the Piazza. Taragirl will be making a special appearance with A-Run singing a Jackson 5 tune. The Icon party was originally supposed to highlight Michael, Prince, James Brown and Stevie Wonder with each DJ taking a separate icon.

Oh snap, house music all night long! I guess in this case all day long because DJ Dirty just hit me off with a mix from the Sundae Shakedown WMC Yacht Party. Sundae partnered with Shakedown for a yacht party down at WMC this year…Ok I’m just jealous and I can’t really write anything more praising how cool it might have been cause I wasn’t there. Just download the mix and book your plane tickets for Miami now before gas prices make you walk there because thats the only affordable option. I’m not mad. I swear. Expect soulful, funky, party on a boat house. Make some mojitos or caipirinhas and just chill. Use the grill, its nice outside. Invite some friends over. I’m having a BBQ real soon, I’ve got venison burgers. We’re doing it real big this weekend. Holler at me.

Triple Gloss Entertainment (that name was shorter than 3 Hot Chicks Throwing Parties Entertainment) is having their 3rd (Annual) Vampires and Vixens party. This is NOT a Goth party (not that there’s anything wrong with that) but a 5 hour costume dance-travanganza. DJs Adam Bomb and Lee Jones will be spinnin’ dance muzak all evening.
There’s an open bar option on the ticketing that includes all you can drink Ciroc. There’s other stuff on the open bar but my eyes lost focus once I read that and visions of drunken debauchery started flowing through my head.
Also there will be regular tickets, bottle service and what costume party is complete without prizes? And did I mention already that it’s thrown by beautiful women…that hang out in flocks like geese (walking every where in V shaped patterns to lower wind resistance [not that there’s anything wrong with that]). What I’m saying here is last year the beautiful person/ugly person ratio last year was like 500/2 (me and an Andy Reid impersonator)
You can get some more information and links to buy tickets at www.vampiresand
