ubiq-puma-700-level-2 Ubiq x Puma 700 Level Collection

Ubiq has teamed up with Puma to release a collection of shoes in honor of one of the most notorious fan sections in sports, the 700 Level of the Vet. The shoes are availabe in two colorways for the lows and two colorways for the mids.  The heels feature 71 and 03 on the left and right respectively commemorating the years in operation.  The sock liner has a map of the stadium and the laces feature the saying “The Nest of Death”.  To celebrate their launch this Sunday, Ubiq is having a release party with Ubiq tail gate from 6 - 8 and then the Fly Ubiq Fly party from 9 - ?  with DJ Aktive and Green Lantern.  I just called and confirmed both parties will be at Ubiq’s flagship store at 1509 Walnut Street.  Not sure if they’ll be showing the birds though.  After the jump is the full flyer for the party and link to more views of the shoes.

July 28th, 2009 · No Comments

jayz_villa_americana_boot Jay-Z x Villa Present Americana Boot for 20th Anniversary

Villa has teamed upwith Jay-Z to create the Americana Boot to commemorate their 20th year anniversary.

Full grain oiltan Bison leather with a crepe-sole and Goodyear welt construction, these incredible American classics were created by Jay-Z, along with Udi, and come in two colors: brown and black. With only 54 pairs (each box is numbered) available in the country, VILLA will be the only retailer in the US carrying them…

What’s more, famed graphic and graffitti artist Stash, who has collaborated with such brands as Nike, Burton-Gravis, Bathing Ape, and Hectic, and is the director of the Recon clothing brand, has contributed to the project by hand drafting every shoe box with a 20th Anniversary message from VILLA.

The Americana will be released in whole sizes only on September 15th at a cost of $200.

Kidz In The Hall - I Got It Made (Reebok Classic ‘09) (video)

March 17th, 2009 · No Comments

New track from Kidz in the Hall. Another group I’m not sure about. Hot or not? I love the classic though.

Kidz In The Hall (Major League/Duck Down Music) is the first group in the series to re-interpret the classic song, “I Got It Made” by Special Ed. The track is available for download now to customers who purchase footwear from the Classic Remix collection at Foot Locker stores. In conjunction with the release of the Reebok Classic Remix collection, a music video for “I Got It Made (Reebok Classic ‘09)”. The video is directed by Justin Francis.

Where to Cop: Pump Pop-Up Shop, NYC

reebok-pump-easter-shoes-2 Where to Cop: Pump Pop-Up Shop, NYC

According to The Cut, this past saturday Reebok opened it’s first ever pop-up shop.  It’s located at 169 Bowery st. in a 3,000 square foot, 2 story art gallery.  This shop is in celebreation of the classic Reebok Pump’s 20th birthday next year.  The decor of the place is inspired by New York in the 80’s with neon colors and crazy prints.  The space is riddled with limited edition t-shirts, including “169 Bowery” shirts.  They’ve even collaborated with graphic designer John Maeda, Dean of the Rhode Island School of Design and others for some limited-edition footwear.  They are planning on introducing a different New York inspired item every week, the catch is they’re only keeping it open until December 14th.  This space must be crasy to experience in person.  I must see it….being is though I’ve loved Reebok Princess’ since I was 11.

Cipher Sneakers

November 12th, 2008 · No Comments

cipher Cipher Sneakers

Fashion footwear from the other side of the ocean, Hong Kong to be specific, is now available to us and the rest of the world.  Cipher sneakers has launched world-wide with a line of luxury footwear and classic designs.  The prices range from $165 - $200 each.  There are only three designs to choose from thus far: The Libertine, The Subterranean and The Seditionary (my personal favorite).   Each design comes complete with a bio explaining its conception and inspiration.

The website itself, not only has a nice overall design, but you get a real feel for the product.  I am always weary of buying a shoe that I have seen or tried on in person, online, but they took their presentation to the next level.  When you click on the shoe you’re interested in, you can select the color you’d like to see and you mouse instantly turns into a magnifying glass so that you can see all the little details of the shoe design.  My mind was blown.  I wish more people did this, I’d be more comfortable spending my money online.

The website also states:

The vision of Cipher is to bring the world unique designer driven products that echo the fluidity of modern cosmopolitan living…An experience that mirrors the lifestyle of the nouveau urban cool; Cipher is international by choice, fused with irony, and available to only those in the know–or seek the authentic.

No matter what city, or cultural tribe you belong to, Cipher is a brand that echoes your lifestyle.

Check it our for yourself.  You won’t be disappointed.

Cipher
