The Punk Rock Flea Market holiday edition is back and bigger than ever and spread out over two days.
It’s that time again for the bi-annual (twice a year) PUNK ROCK FLEA MARKET! Our most popular reoccurring event/show/whatever (by far). We had over 4000 visitors and 100+ tables of old records, clothes, art, music, food, junk, bicycles, stereo equipment, instruments, automobiles, tools, posters, furniture, computers, skateboards and lots of other stuff this past February. It’s all going down this weekend at The Starlight Ballroom (right below 9th & Spring Garden Sts)
To meet the increasing demand of people wanting to sell their stuff at this we have spread it out over two days for Holiday Season : Saturday Dec 19th and Sunday Dec 20th. Each day will have entirely different sellers (not a single repeat seller). Your admission donation is good for entry both days, so you can come in and out as many times as you would like over the weekend! In addition there will be much more room to shop compared to flea markets in the past as we eliminated 25 or so tables from the usual set up (but since it’s over two days, there are more total tables…get it?)
All proceeds raised will go towards the purchase of necessary equipment and supplies to ensure that all ages shows continue to remain a reality at The First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia - mainly our payment for our liability insurance policy. The left over funds will goto purchasing a new smaller PA system so we can do a few smaller shows at all ages spaces this spring (instead of doing them in our 21+ venues). Do not let the “name of the event” lead you to believe that it’s just punk records, clothes etc. - it’s a full on flea market with everything from furniture, to laptops / computers , to stereo equipment, to handmade apparel, to vegan treats, information from various non profit groups, book stores, artists selling their work, bicycles & skateboards and whatever else they can fit onto the ballroom floor at The Starlight Ballroom

Raekwon the Chef is playing a special and intimate show tomorrow at the First Unitarian Church. This is going to be an incredible show at an incredible venue. The space is small, and I can’t believe he’s playing at such an intimate venue. Hurry and get tickets asap before it sells out. Tickets are $15 or $20 and you receive a copy of his CD. Sean Price and Reef the Lost Cauze will be opening up.
R5 Show, Buy tickets online here or head to AKA music at 2nd and Market.
Brother Ali, Evidence, Toki Wright and BK-One are going on the Fresh Air tour and have just released this song and video entitled Freshest Kids. R5 Productions is bringing in the tour on November 6th at the First Unitarian Church. Tickets are $13 here and at AKA Music (27 N 2nd) or $15 day of the show.
The summer edition of the Punk Rock Flea Market is back for this weekend and it’s home of the Starlight Ballroom. The biannual event has expanded to two days this year.
We continually have 2000+ visitors and 100+ tables of old records, clothes, art, music, food, junk, bicycles, stereo equipment, instruments, automobiles, tools, posters, furniture, computers, skateboards and lots of other stuff!
For the first time we are going to host it for TWO DAYS. As you may be aware the flea market continues to grow in popularity with sellers and attendees. So in order to make this a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone, we are eliminating over 40 tables each day - thus creating for lots more room for people to browse and shop! It’s will be far less crowded and cramped!
Fear not though, we will still have the same amount of sellers at previous flea markets (we’ll actually have a few more sellers than last time because it’s spread out over the two days). Get it? Your admission donation ($3) will be good for both days (no need to pay twice). You’ll be given a wristband that allows you to enter and leave as many times as you would like over the two days.
This is a fund raiser so that R5 can continue to promote all ages shows and primarily for the payment of the insurance premium needed for the venues that R5 uses. Click here for a full list of vendors.

Tonight its Diplo & Boys Noize at the Mad Decent Mausoleum. If you saw our post last week right when we posted it then you were one of the lucky people to get presale tix before they sold out in 30 mins! Don’t worry, if you don’t have tickets, the presale tix were only half of the total made available. From R5.
Also tonight is the much internet gossiped DIPLO / BOYZ NOISE show at the MAD DECENT MAUSOLEUM. We sold some advance tickets that guaranteed your admission and those sold out in less than 30 minutes! But do not stress, we will be allowing more people to pay at the door - but it will be done only a first come, first serve basis. We ask that you arrive no earlier than 9pm (if you do you’ll just be sent away). We only sold half the capacity in advance, so if you arrive early-ish / on time you should be good to get in - there will be plenty of room early on. There is nothing we can do to reserve your space. There is no guest list etc. So please don’t be mad if you show up at 11:30 wondering why you cant get in.
Man this show is going to be crazy. I remember the first time that Boys Noize came through and played [click] at Medusa, that show was ludacris. Oh yeah, free beer, but you may want to bring your own as I’m sure you know what those lines are like.
