The Seclusiasis gets it in tonight at Fluid with special guest Mike Slott performing live at this month’s Who Run It?. Mike Slott was born in Dublin but now resides in NYC and has been getting some major airplay and much respect around the world for his bass heavy music. He has releases under his own name as well as a coproducer with Hudmo in the group Heralds of Change. Early last year he was selected to do a mix for Marry Anne Hobbs last year which featured 7 out of 10 tracks that he either produced himself or as Heralds of Change. If you’re a dubstep and bass music fan, tonight is not to be missed. Ghost, Sonkin and RX open things up tonight. Cover is $5 before 11 and $8 after.

Dre Skull not only channels Rick Rubin’s stylings, but also has begun to take on his breadth of work having worked with Vybz Kartel, Sizzla, remixing Diplo & Laidback Luke, Lil Scrappy and bursting on the scene with Juiceboxxx in 2007. Meanwhile Scottish DJ / producer DFRNT will be headlining the ground floor with the Inciting crew. DFRNT is best known his brand of “deep”, “beautiful” , “heady” dubstep but is expected to bring a more upbeat and dance friendly set this Friday which is more representative of his latest album Metafiction. Fools Gold / Nightshifters / Acephale artist Kingdom aka Kkingdomm will be bringing the heavy bass to the Barbary tonight. Kingdom has been on a tear ever since I first heard OMG Michelle’s You Don’t Know Michelle produced by Kingdom in late 2007 or early 2008 and his first mixtape, posted here in May of 2008. February saw his debut single Mind Reader released by Fools Gold. In January he had a feature remix on L-Vis 1990’s United Groove. Needless to say his career is only going to take off with those 2 releases coming in the first quarter of 2010.
In February, Kingdom joined fellow Fools Gold artists, Spank Rock, Ninjasonik, Theophilus London and more at the famed Fabric Nightclub (the best club I’ve ever been to) and released a promo mix. If you haven’t, download it below. It’s a dubstep / bassline / bass heavy mix featuring plently of Kingdom’s own production and more.
Sonkin, a member of the Seclusiasis crew, recently released Fun In the Sun a dubstep mix to help wobble the winter blues away. It is definitely helping me through the end of the day. Nightshifters label head and NYC DJ Jubilee will be guesting tonight at Subdivision, now every last friday at the Khyber. Jubilee is a regular feature on here, download her XLR8R podcast mix we mentioned a few weeks back, the Flashing Lights Mixtape she did with Ayres and Catchdubs in January and watch her chart topping song, Smoke Rings, with Udachi.
