Wednesdays and Thursdays stay the same as last month but there are couple switchups on Fridays and Saturdays. First off, Milk Plus with DJ Sega appears to be double booked with a brand new party Psyhooshka that features acid, psy and tech-house. I’ve reached out to both parties and it appears they are still working out the details, I’ll keep you posted. Next Friday still appears to yet be booked, while the following Saturday is Boom Bap which looks almost exactly like Boogie Juice from last month.
UPDATE: Psyhooshka has been canceled in favor of MilkPlus with DJ Sega

Medusa has released their July 2010 calendar and the biggest news is Let Me Ride’s Jungle Rave is back at the end of the month with Nate Day of Camo UFOs! The last Thursday and Friday of the month are still open as of now but otherwise looks like everything is the same schedule as last month.

Tonight, the Legends of Drum and Bass series presents Twisted Individual at Medusa! Direct from London, Twisted Individual burst onto the scene in 1998 with his roller Wales. He followed that up with a massive remix of label honcho DJ SS’ Lighter, his own production The F Word and a remix of Blackstreet into Street Knowledge. If you’re a fan of the old school heavy rollers and drum and bass in general, I would highly recommend this. Plus, it’s only $5. Serious business tonight!

The Medusa calendar is nearly the same as last month save for the First Friday party. Topanga replaces Matpat while Cap’n Harry and Gnarwhale stay the DJ’s and with a new name Milk Plus. More info at TrickGo. Also, be sure to check out Hurrah tomorrow with special guest Deep Sang from DC. And the Philadelphyinz are bringing in DJ Ayres from The Rub on the 12th. Top notch!

Medusa has released their May 2010 calendar and it has most of your favorites but is missing a couple key parties. This Friday in place of Other Delights will be Matpat with new residents Cap’n Harry & Gnarwhale. As we mentioned before, Marinate moved on from Medusa and is on their way to Raven Lounge. The 29th is actually the 5th Saturday of the month and as of now has nothing scheduled but I’m sure that will fill up quick.

This Saturday, Hurrah presents The Birthday Party! Happy Birthday Shawn!
This Saturday at Hurrah we’re having the birthday party! Unfortunately I’m not referring to Nick Cave’s first band (which would be awesome). I’m talkin about MY BIRTHDAY PARTY! It’s the time of year where the turntable Taurus rears his cake spattered head once again. And to help keep the celebration moving, I enlisted the help of Gentle Giant and Peter Dragontail. If you caught the Giant at any of the last 4AM parties, then you know he’s got the most mind bending and mysterious grooves of any young DJ in this city. As for Dragontail, I’m sure you’re familiar with his graphic stylings for Hurrah, Steppin Out, Grimace Federation & PYT. Fun fact: he’s also a reclusive producer of finely tuned pop and italo. Oh hell yes! So yet again, Hurrah has a night of music from the future and fun times in store for you. Aaaaand it’s my birthday party. The only gift you need to bring is yourself.

Plastic Little is back at Medusa this Saturday with Shawn Ryan at Hurrah. Remember the last time they played Medusa at I Can Has Bass? Yeah, that party was the most packed I’ve seen at Medusa. The only time that was close was when Boys Noize played at [click]. Highly recommended!

If this feels like deja vu, then you’re right again. Medusa closed this past weekend yet again so Gregg and Romes weren’t able to play. Each and every Sunday it’s Marinate Sundays with Federation Sound at Medusa Lounge. Kenny Meez holds it down with special guests. This week fellow Federation Sound Selectah Max Glazer will be coming down from NYC alongside Gregg Nyce and Romes in the spot. Gregg is constantly featured on here for his flawless mixing in the Lunch Box series or his numerous remixes. Romes is your favorite DJ when you head out to clubs like Pearl, Denim etc. Romes is part of the working DJ’s in bottle service clubs that have the event name and random details featured instead of who is spinning. Needless to say he is in the top tier of quality Philly DJ’s.
