There is always that time I am sitting in cafe and wonder where the girl that just served me my coffee goes and parties. I mean if I she was wearing some American Apparel one piece thing with some over sized shoes and an attitude about how the new crystal castles cd was released but really they just copied there shit form some 8 bit breakcore kids out of bumble fuck Indiana and then the whole online community kinda gave a fuck for two minutes to blog about it but in the end no one really cares so its what ever attitude here is your coffee and see you at the Barbary, but nah this girl was different with like thigh high boots cowboy boots that I know when she walks around and her legs sweat and stretches the leather and then she has to sit there in front of the TV massaging her calf’s getting the leather down piece by piece untill finally the boots come off and she decides to wear some chacko’s and eat ice cream. I think she would probably like to go to the Adrien Reju show this Wednesday. I should ask her. She probably understands the importance of John Prine covers and the importance of drinking till 2 am.

tj_kong-300x211 TJ Kong and the Atomic Bomb Tonight at M Room

Its not so often I am getting drunk at the Public House and the DJ is spinning some really good soul and rock cuts that I go over and talk to them on the subject of mp3 piracy and vinyl sales and the dude turns out ot be really knowledgable of folk music. Then we start talkin about his band and how they have been together for 3 months and have almost 100 songs and can play for 3 hrs of orignal material. So then I pop over to their myspace and they just got some awesome lofi-4track blues folk tunes that just speak to my soul. If you got a lady friend get your ass to M Room tonight and check these dudes out. I am sure as soon as they put a CD together they are gonna be all over XPN.

And when your done you can go over to Jang House.

Adrien Reju vs Micky Avon

djs_gone_wild7 Adrien Reju vs Micky Avon

Not sure if you guys just read that Paper Street (holy shit Dj Contra at Mojito also this city is getting some hot dj talent this weekend) blast but freaking Micky Avalon is playing from 9:00 to 9:45 sharp. Like WHOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. So what that really means is that from 10:00 to 10:45 Micky Avalon will be preforming and why would you see that when you could see Philly’s home grown folk mistress Adrien Reju playing some solo cuts at the Tin Angel. I have been pluggin this girl for a little bit but I really like her style and sounds. Plus that whole singer song writer shit is so hot in the streets these days. So get over to the Tin Angel for killer folk tracks, then we can all ride our one speeds to the Troc in a pseudo biker gang flock for Flossy D and Chromeo. Actually a folk cover of Needy Girl would be so next level.
