Wasn’t it just yesterday that I was at the Bubble House and these two guys were live painting at some party I was at? Well, it must have been decades ago because since then, they’ve done so much. Launched a fashion line, got picked up by Urban Outfitters, showed at Berlin Fashion week….Joey & Brooks are some busy busy dudes and have accomplished a ton in just a few years. I have no idea how they get so much done, in such little time. Not only have they accomplished ALL of that, they’ve recently introduced me to my new love, Bert Lorenzo.
He is a man with a bit of a sophisticated but casual palette, complete with plaids and dark denim. He’s born from vintage gear that is then color treated in only the most vibrant choices and hand treated so each piece is unique, and has a personal feel. They’re so individual, it’s almost like you don’t chose Bert Lorenzo….he chooses you.

The Fresh Melt Water look (and way of life), for Fall is modeled by the one and only “badass bike dude” Ed “Wonka” LAforte. So, not only do the shirts look good….they apparently look good while riding your bike backwards, which I find myself doing more often then you would think. Fresh Melt Water is for the individual that’s not afraid to actually say something with their clothing. Each image says something, sometimes literally. The overall Fall concept is bound by the phrase “Enjoy Life.” How appropriate. Available NOW at the locations below.

This weekend F.H.B. Modeling and Talent Agency is hosting Philadelphia Fashion Week. It’s a three day event including a red carpet and a afterparties every night. The highlight of this event is Philly’s own rapper/actress Eve re-launching her clothing line Fetish. This will be the first time she show’s her line since it’s long hiatus. She originally launched her clothing brand in 2003, but according to sojones.com, she was never really into the design direction of original line. Her line has been made over, with her new partners, Signature Apparel. They’ve aided her in her Fetish face lift, and given her line a more sophisticated appeal. Nicer materials, edited logo placement and a recipe for a successful clothing line that should do better than the original. So excited to see what they’ve come up with!

The event will be held at the City Hall Courtyard, at Broad & Market.

Although she’s been hinting at if for quite some time….M.I.A.’s debut fashion line is FINALLY available. M.I.A. has always had a unique fashion sense and has been declared a fashion icon numerous times. She is known for crazy all over prints, blinding colors and a killer converse all stars collection, (that if I ever saw in it’s entirety I think I would faint). Actually, now that I think about it, I think the only time I’ve ever seen her in a solid color was when she performed on the David Letterman Show, but even then she was wearing a UPS uniform which was rebellious in itself.
According to her myspace blog, these clothes were meant to be sold on her Kala tour, but were delayed for some reason. She only made 1000 pieces total and EVERYTHING is limited edition. Everything is ovbiously of her style and taste, including bright prints and vibrating colors inspired by different countries and cultures. These clothes are for the fashionista that’s not afraid to take a risk, or make it to work on time for that matter. These are a party girl’s clothes, and seeing as how they’re made from mostly knits, they don’t constrict your dancing addiction one bit. Everything ranges from $75 - $210. A bit expensive, but for limited edition, I can understand. You can only buy her clothes off her website SHOP MIA. So check them out and get them NOW, or it might be too late.

Miss Linda Smith, proprietor of Topstitch Boutique, is the featured seller this week at Etsy. Linda is also known for her jewelry lines Fleathers and Rabidfox.
What first made you want to become an artist?
Probably my first crayon, as soon as i figured out how to hold a drawing utensil I knew my purpose in life and from there on out I have always had to keep my hands busy. I used to sketch at the dinner table (drove my mother crazy) and would get in trouble at school for drawing on the desks. That was probably my first art show in first grade when Mrs. Kumar made the whole class walk around my table to see what I was so busy drawing, embarrassing yet exciting. My parents have always been very supportive of my passion for art. These days my productive pastimes are cutting up leather and small animals made of wax
