Yo just got this email from RVNG about a new 10″ they pressed that is some obscure punk rock edits and shit like that. Love this label and all they are doing with it. But on the real for everrrrrr evvverrr evvverrrr I thought rvng meant raving. So naturally the company is called rvng of the nerds and I was like raving the of the nerds. So if you didn’t know Dave P is associated with RVNG and when I would see him I would always ask him about the RVNG records but not by name of course. It would be real casual like yeah saw the new record it looks dope yaddaaahhhdatttit mean and shit… Then this one time I was at making time with him when the conversation went something like this. we started talking about this record I dropped and then started talking about what he was doing….
So we shoot the shit and we wrapping it up something like “Yeah man its like your the King of raving to the nerds.” trying to make this funny joke about the label and like Dave P being a dope ass DJ who is constantly getting it done in Philly and all over the world.
and he looks at me like all fucked up and is like “yeahhhh raving of the nerds…. I’m the king…” and like maybe didn’t get all I was saying or what ever and was looking all fucked up. But I always was like oh shit I was trying to make this joke about the label and him and it totally went over his head. Yeah it was a kinda like what the fuck moment but also like are you on meth type statement.
So low and behold the joke is on me for not realizing its revenge…
Surkin is back once again this time at a special Click at the Barbary. The last time he was here was for the big rave at the Vacuum with the Institubes Paris Terror Club. Fun times.
