The Global Grooves concert dancefloor series launches this Thursday, July 15th. The series is brought to you by The Kimmel Center in association with AfroTaino Productions, and promises to whisk everyone who attends to another corner of the planet! Not only will the Kimmel/AfroTaino partnership provide the opportunities to see & hear musical talents from all over the globe, but also invites you to dance & rejoice all night. Every Thursday in July starting this week, Perelman Theatre, one of the Kimmel’s largest performance spaces, will host your international summer concert experience, and following each concert, the festivities continue upstairs at Cadence Restaurant. AfroTaino Productions’ own DJ Rahsaan will be resident selector of the Official After Parties, showcasing his 21st Century global dance sounds for all until the wee hours of the night. From dancing all night under the magnificent glass ceiling of this beautiful facility to catching a sweet summer breeze on Cadence’s balcony overlooking the Avenue of The Arts, this year’s Global Grooves series is perfect for music lovers from all over the region. All shows at 8:30 pm, concert + afterparty only $20.

The series kicks off Thursday, July 15th with SARAZINO, the sensational band whose sound spans from Algeria to the Caribbean to Ecuador, and now here in Philly. Based in the high Andean mountains of Quito, Ecuador, Sarazino is the brainchild of Lamine Fellah, a musician, songwriter and producer whose nomadic life is reflected in the multicultural influences in his songs. Fellash is a true child of a globalized world and Sarazino’s music draws on reggae, Latin & African grooves, Arabic music and catchy, international pop to create an upbeat celebration of the diverse world we all share. Don’t miss this Philadelphia debut and check out this track with Toots Hibbert of the infamous ska band Toots & The Maytals from Sarazino’s 2009 album Sarazino – People (ft. Toots Hibbert) by gregzinho
